Laura: You are the spy, Black Widow. An Avenger. The Avengers can not stop slavery. Or help hurt girls.
Natasha: Neither can the X-men. But we try. You’re a good fighter. One of the best, I’m told. You’re also supposed to have a gift for strategy. But tonight, I didn’t see it. You let your emotions rule.
Laura: My… emotions.
Natasha: don’t look so surprised. You’re not immune to anger. No one is. But you’re not a blut force object, either. You can be better.
Laura: You have watched… me.
Natasha: I’ve had my eye on you for a while. I don’t ignore potential. From X-23 #20, by Marjorie Liu and Phil Noto.
PLEASE MARVEL PLEASE - A Black Widow/Natasha standalone movie with Bucky and the whole backstory stuff.
The Girls of Phase One.
Alternate Title: Sif and her six tiny new friends.
I want to read ALL the stories about these ladies saving/running the world.
One of the things I liked most about this film is how Black Widow’s fight scenes were written and choreographed (and acted!). In IM2, Natasha’s waif-fu seems effortless, but in the Avengers movie she looks like a woman who’s actually throwing punches, who’s actually taking punches, instead of some kind of autobot marionette flipping around without actually exerting herself. She still clearly outclasses everyone in the room, but she grunts and makes faces and sweats while she’s fighting—like a person, not a doll.
GIVE ME THIS MOVIE, MARVEL. Look, I drew you a poster and everything. Just make it happen. (Tumblr, it’s your task to write the pitch and script.)
(Recommended here, but I may just paste this post into that post, because this issue recommends itself.) (I meant to post these individually, but that didn’t accommodate the gushing. Oops.)
So the hijinks start when Tatiana, a young woman Natasha rescued from circumstances similar to her own childhood, mails Natasha a letter with an apology and a location for some unspecified application of violence. Natasha drags Sharon along with her to what turns out to be a graduation gala for some upper-crust girls’ academy. As they’re entering the event and Sharon is talking over a communicator with Steve, this is going on in the background:

OH DEAR, IS THAT GUN MINE
And then this whole mess happens, and I lost it:

i’m sorry, fandom. your shipwar is in another castle.

“You know, Clint’s hands may look hard and tired, but I have only ever known them as soft and warm.
And he seems to like to fall asleep on his stomach.
And he has this ridiculous habit of stopping for coffee everywhere we go.
And anytime we need an alias, he likes using names from old Hitchcock films.
And sometimes he doesn’t want to talk, but it almost feels like we can have a whole conversation in silence.
But he can always make me smile, even when I don’t want to, and I always find myself doing the same for him.
Most of all, he likes me to hold him when he is in pain.
But no matter how much pain he is in, he will always do what he can to take away mine. “
Companion piece to this
But no silly comic for this one..! But I can imagine she is talking to Pepper? IDk
The end.
A Black Widow teaser for a, well… something? Gasp.
Reblogging myself to say this was revealed to be a teaser for War Zone, a Punisher plotline— and likely a return to Black Widow for Greg Rucka.
AND SUDDENLY
A MARVEL EVENT HAD MY FULL INTEREST
